Help! are hidden spuninst folders virus or spyware?

I am really new to this, but I found 79 hidden spuninst folders in my C:\WINDOWS. They are

$NtUninstallKB885836$
$NtUninstallKB886185$
$NtUninstallKB887472$
$NtUninstallKB888302$
$NtUninstallKB890859$
$NtUninstallKB891781$
and a lot more. 79 files to be exact. Should I delete these? However, I'm afraid to do so, coz I'm not sure of they are useful or what. I really dont know. SO.. HELP!

All of the quoted 79 hidden "spuninst folders", are part of your system and are hidden so that you avoid messing with them. These folders are hidden for the very reason to protect the non expert with computers from removing the files. Some programs that you will download will have hidden files, for the same reason.

If you have spyware or a virus you should have software to scan for them. If you don't here are a list of free program I have used for years. One is purchased, my antivirus program, but I will give you a free one that is excellent along with antispyware. You can only use one antivirus program or you will have serious conflict with your system. you can use three or four antispyware without conflict. As one will always find what the other antispyware missed.

The easiest way is to back-up all the work & important stuff, then wipe the hard drive and reformat/partition it. Then do a clean installation from the MS-Windows disc. It might sound a bit drastic but it's the only way of getting rid of all the nasty stuff that is now sure to be on his PC. Good luck!
