Most home DVD players do not play avi format. (It is copyrighted by Microsoft and they have to pay to use it).
Check the DVD burning software that came with your PC. Usually it will a DVD authoring feature in the software. That will take an avi (or mpg or wmv) file and convert it to the proper format for a DVD player as part of burning the disc. Be aware that the conversion process will take as least as long as the file is (one hour to convert a one hour file) - and often longer.

simple answer ................ it depends on the burning software it does not !!! and even if u somehow manage to o it . it will depend on that dvd playe then !
