Hello all.

I was wandering, I just put in an e6300 and the heatsink/fan. On this particular model, is the fan controlled with the motherbaord?

At times it seems as if it's not working; so basically, it turns on and off. Is this when the cpu get's hot only? Or is it suppose to constantly be on. Thanks.

I surf the Internet a lot and open a lot of new windows all the time. After opening up so many new windows, my computer seems to "run out of memory" and will not allow any more new windows to open.

Even if I try to right click, the little right click menu won't open. Sometimes it won't even open the shut down menu. Why does it do this?

This is a brand new computer and it has lots of hard drive space. It has 960 MB of Ram and a 177 GB hard drive. There is 161 GB of available hard drive space on my computer. So why would it say a message like "not enough memory to do this action, try closing out some programs and try again."

Please help! It's so aggravating to have to reboot every hour!

Thanks in advance!

So i bought a new psu, it is stronger than my old one, yet the monitor doesnt turn on. I know the monitor works, and I am sure i have everything plugged in fine. I have tried plugging it into both the gfx card slot and the integrated gfx slot and both do not work. I have one thing that I am interested about though, the main connector of the psu, is each hole in it supposed to have a cable in it. The new psu has one missing and on the old one it is a white cable. It might be my processor but my computer is new [5 + months] so i doubt theres anything wrong with that.

My computer is pretty old, around 2001 or 2002. It still has some nice parts, that is, except for the graphics card. It can't handle games such as Star Wars: KotOR or better. The rest of my computer can run it, with only 512MB of ram, and around 55GB of hard drive space (left). With the new Vista systems, should I go ahead and get a new computer, upgrade my video card, or neither?

If you think I should only upgrade my graphics card, how do I know what my computer will handle? Can I just pick one of the same brand (NVidea)?

i have problems with my pc. it started when our pc expert(i dont know, but my parents trust him, even thought he didn't study computer stuff) re-formated our pc, then installed a new graphics accelerator card, a new Ram, sound card(i think) and accessories. Then my pc became slow, i can't do what i usually do. I usually open my YM, 2 internet explorers... but now, i can only open 1 of them, i can open two, but it is so slow, that i need to exit one of the program. And one thing, in My computer properties, i checked my RAM, and it said 256MB, but the person who fixed my PC said that it was 512MB, how did it affected my pc? And i play internet games also, and it affected my gaming experience real great, that i have to quit the game for 1 week coz i'm having trouble with it also. AND ANOTHER ONE, when i placed the connection to my sister's laptop, the game run smoothly, but when i ran it in my pc, it was, rubbish? pls help!

I purchased a cpu-vga set motherboard from an on-line store and was wondering if the standard resolution of 640x480 at 16 colors was the max it can handle. I only need it for office work - but more than 16 colors would be really nice. Who only needs 16 colors any more?

I have an older home built pc. I don't know how to check the motherboard to see how much RAM it can take. Currently it has a 128MB and 64MB chip and operates XP home well. I would like to add more RAM. Is there an internet website that can test your computer? Or any number I can look for?

When a personal computer is turned on with windows loaded up, what is the CPU doing? My teacher says it is running a screen saver program and in between that is simply checking for interrupts over and over again. Is this true? Can anyone tell me exactly what it is doing. Surely it would be more efficient to defrag or some other maintenance program.

hi,

i had confused about my office pc when it going unbootable. when i installed the h. disk to another pc, S.M.A.R.T msg appears on boot screen that the disk are damaged. so, i bought a new h. disk. setting up XP & other apps. i boot it, but the 'nice' blue screen flashing and the system rebooted simultaneously.

several days before it going well (with this old hdisk) with in the same time some cracking sound came form the cpu. i know it. i must change the new h.disk. AND I'M VERY SURE IT'S NOT A M/BOARD PROBLEM. but later when i change the new one, it rebooting over and over.

is it a bios problem? system uncompatible(bought this pc by 2003). or m/board problem?

how to resolve it? thanks!

I have already drives C to I created by the manufacturer. D is the recovery drive. I think, to save all video (movie) files I have to create a new drive and keep them in it. Then only I can save them while I reinstall my computer. How can I create a new drive? Will I face any trouble by the new drive?

I have too many video (movie) files in my computer. If I reinstall the computer, I have to copy all the video files in CD otherwise all video files will go away. Is there any way to save them within the hard-disk? They should not be deleted during reinstallation.

I am planning to use 4 units of 500G Seagate SATA drive
(ST3500630AS) and I just got a new motherboard :
ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe, which has NVIDIA nForce 590 chipset with NVRAID feature. Can someone please give me some advise, if I should go with the NVRAID's Raid-5,
Is it reliable, and how good is it's performance ?
Or I should chose another vendor's dedicated RAID controller, if another vendor, which one has most reliable, performance o.k., and relatively lower cost.

Thanks for any input.
