What is the best resolution I can expect from an on-board vga graphics card?

I purchased a cpu-vga set motherboard from an on-line store and was wondering if the standard resolution of 640x480 at 16 colors was the max it can handle. I only need it for office work - but more than 16 colors would be really nice. Who only needs 16 colors any more?

You need to install the driver for it. The reason it is only using 640x480 and 16 colors is because it is using the Windows default driver. You should have received a CD with the motherboard, insert it and install all of the drivers.
