Hello all.

I was wandering, I just put in an e6300 and the heatsink/fan. On this particular model, is the fan controlled with the motherbaord?

At times it seems as if it's not working; so basically, it turns on and off. Is this when the cpu get's hot only? Or is it suppose to constantly be on. Thanks.

Most new motherboards have some sort of "smart fan" function in "PC Health Status" in BIOS. If it is enabled, the fan speed varies depending on load. If it is disabled, the fan runs at full speed w/c could be noisy for stock fans. Others may have settings such as Full Speed, By Temperature or By Duty Cycle.

The newer motherboards monitor the temp. of the cpu so that it is possible to control fan speed to accommodate rises and falls in cpu core temp. When a cpu is working hard it gets very hot, graphics such as those in games are one of the biggest hogs of cpu clock cycles and and can run temps. up way close to max. At times like these your cpu cooler will run very fast and be rather noisy. But most of the time your system isn't working all that hard allowing the fan to slow and greatly reduce the db level.

i think of your subject is a short circuit or ability surge, i beleive i had a similar superb subject, if your specific that each and every person cables and areas are intsalled wisely, i could attempt to get rid of the motherboard battery (it appears that evidently like a coin, you will comprehend the place it is, take it out for somewhat, on a similar time, get rid of all cables, which includes the flexibility furnish cable, placed the psu to off place, carry the flexibility button on the case for like 40 5 seconds, then placed all cables returned together, it may in all hazard have the potential to start up now and stay on, i could pass into the bios and make sure that your hardware temperatures are interior of selection, i had a computer turn off on me interior of a few seconds because of the fact the heatsink wasnt doing the activity nicely because of the fact i used dried out thermal paste, i found out in the bios that the cpu became into working as much as a hundred ranges celsius and then close off, i on the instant went to a close-by save, offered thermal paste and utilized returned and temperatures have been generic at around 35-40c.
