Bigger RAM generally improves overall system performance. Bigger RAM also has more memory for maximum sharing w/ integrated graphics or videocard w/ Hypermemory or Turbocache.

HOWEVER, best gaming performance come from advanced technology GPU, high core clock and high memory clock (ddr3).

The simplest way I can explain this is:

think of it like juggling tennis balls...
if you only have two hands there are only a finite number of balls that you can juggle.

However, if you had many more hands, you'd be able to juggle many more tennis balls.

It's the same concept with RAM. The more you have the more data you can process. The more data you can process, the faster the program runs - any program, including and especially games or any type of video.

Hope this helps.

RAM gives you more temperory storage for programs so your CPU and Hard disk work less, which speeds everything up, and gives game more "breathing room".
