hi,

i had confused about my office pc when it going unbootable. when i installed the h. disk to another pc, S.M.A.R.T msg appears on boot screen that the disk are damaged. so, i bought a new h. disk. setting up XP & other apps. i boot it, but the 'nice' blue screen flashing and the system rebooted simultaneously.

several days before it going well (with this old hdisk) with in the same time some cracking sound came form the cpu. i know it. i must change the new h.disk. AND I'M VERY SURE IT'S NOT A M/BOARD PROBLEM. but later when i change the new one, it rebooting over and over.

is it a bios problem? system uncompatible(bought this pc by 2003). or m/board problem?

how to resolve it? thanks!

W/ PC unplugged, try removing CMOS battery (looks like a silver coin) for 1 minute. Put back battery. Turn on PC then press F1 or Del to enter BIOS. Load fail-safe defaults then save and exit.

If you can not even enter BIOS menu screen, your motherboard may have a problem.

cracking sound in an old hdisk is an indicator that U should buy a new one. The most prevalent reason for a blue screen is bad ram.Ur ram can go bad if the power pack supplies a wrong voltage level to Ur mboard.

Since U're sure that the problem is not with the motherboard. Then do the following:
start with replacing Ur power pack and ram(with a friend's own to test),reset the bios by removing cmos battery(that coin like battery on the mboard)for about 30 mins with all plugs and cables disconnected from the board.Afterwards, put everything back. Put on the sys& press F1 or DEL to enter bios setup, load fail safe, save and exit

Check whether the cpu fan spins-this is also a likely cause.

NOTE:If U installed the operating system into the hdisk on a different mboard& U want d hdisk to boot up on another mboard, U may not always succeed @it. Re-install the operating system on the hdisk in the board where U'll be using the hdisk

Cracking sound sounds like a power supply component failing, but could be ANY chip or capacitor.
IF one of the power regulator circuits failed the motherboard could be receiving an invcorrect voltage and hence be unable to operate fully, and the SMART erors are a symptom of a voltage issue causing a sensor to misread data.

The Cheaper option is to try a new power unit first, or take PC to a shop and get them to try a new PSU to see if it stops the rebooting.

If it's not the PSU, then it's the motherboard/cpu/ram

NOTE : A PSU component popping CAN lead to sudden shift on a voltage lne that can cause damage to other sensitive components. Many is the time I've gone to replace a blown PSU and had to do the motherboard too.

Dont like the "Crackling" sound it sounds like the power supply might have failed which has in turn damaged the motherboard. If this is the case look carefully at the mobo and you wil probably see some damage to the voltage regulator IC's the plastic cases should be smooth and not blistered or cracked. I think it might be time to look at replacing the computer as a whole.

First, in case you have put in new hardware, disconnect it out of your device. this would take place if new hardware or application has been put in that may not nicely matched with your OS. try returned booting to the final time-honored good Configuration. in view which you pronounced you have tried all boot ideas, i anticipate you know the thank you to try this, so I won't provide you instructions. in case you will get it besides that way, be certain you uninstall any new application you ought to have extra via fact the final time it ran properly. you additionally can try re-seating your RAM, in spite of the very incontrovertible fact that it would not sound like that's the problem. I certainly have had poorly seated RAM create a lot of diverse subjects. when you are trying those issues, if it won't enable you besides in secure Mode, or to final time-honored good Configuration...try working a reoair with your device restoration disc. If it won't fix this variety, your in basic terms determination would be a reformat. in case you nevertheless bump into issues after a reformat, you likely are finding at a foul device board.
