wife was using rubbing alcohol near computer and spilled a whole bottle on desk and got a whole bunch on keyboard also. now it doesn't work. using on-screen keyboard to type. checked keyboard in control panel thing and windows say it is working properly but when i try to use it it doesn't work. is it done for or will it survive?

I came across a couple Xeon Processors that was in a server I purchased on ebay.Usually they say on the front of the processor Intel Xeon and the size and such on the back but this one is different.Is says Intel Confidential on both chips.Can anyone tell me what this means and what the difference might be with them??Thanks

Okay i've been getting the dreaded blue screen of death. Its completely random i've gotten it being online,just booting up at very first screen, at windows screen. while sometimes it wont do it at all. I've format'd my harddrive twice saved what i couldnt reinstall in my partition moved that stuff back. got one blue screen prior to that. I fix computers and this one has me embarassingly stumpped. My thoughts of what it could be is a possible wrong setting in the CMOS, or a hardware issue. I had replaced my mainboard once prior when I had this problem and it fixed it. However the new board could of got struck by lighting i suspose. I dont believe a lighting strike would cause it to be a random blue screen though. Any ideas?

and sometimes when using it to click links and moves slightly away from the link making it hard to click..

For some reason my PC stopped functioning as it would not turn on at all...only on some occassions. Now it does not power up at all, the power supply makes a buzzing noise when I plug it in, but doesn't power up the computer. I just purchased a Dynex power supply and connected all wires to the CD ROM, Floppy, Motherboard, etc..........................and it still does not power up. What can possibly be wrong with it? I have tried installing my new hard drive as a slave drive on another computer and then used te seagate DiscWizard to copy the files from the master drive to the slave drive and then made the slave drive the master drive on a different computer. The problem is that i get an error about the Operating System not being detectable. So is there a way i can get windows xp onto that slave drive and have it bea master drive/

my mother has an older laptop that came with windows ME and a friend of hers had installed windows xp on it now there isnt even room on this laptop to run anything else besides say aol and thats it she cant do anything on this computer because it cant handle win xp.....I have searched online how to do this and have tried reformating it wont let me i have tried several different things and i cant seem to get it to work ive tried a site where it said to boot with the cd and at the prompt type fdisk well a prompt comes up saying a:/ but when i type fdisk it wont do anything and it comes up with the a:/ again does anyone have any suggestions how i can do this to fix this computer?? I have the original recovery cd for thsi computer which has windows ME on it

I currently have an Athlon 64 3000+ 1.8 ghz and 1 gig of RAM. For roughly the same dough I could either upgrade the cpu to an Athlon 64 3700+ 2.2 ghz, or double the RAM to 2 gigs. But what would actually make a noticeable difference in the pc's performance?
