I think there must have some regsitry errors and spyware in you PC to slow it down.
You need to try a registry cleaner to clean you PC.
Every time you install and uninstall software on your computer you create junk in the registry. You need to scan and clean your PC with registry cleaner. It is a powerful and useful tool to elinimate to the clutter and junk that builds up in your PC's registry from installing and removing programs, creating and deleting files and surfing online.Without regular system tune–ups, it's very likely your computer will slow, crash, full of error messages, leaving you with a costly computer–mechanic bill and lost data.//
There are some comparison and review of registry cleaners

You can download and scan your PC for free.

Seems to me that you have some processes that are a Little busy...Many reasns for this my friend. The latest is a massive "Malware/Spyware" invasion. You probably have an anti virus utillity and some kind of firewall. If you dont, /what are you eaiting for, run and get one. Or ;Your wystem will come to a creeap. or stand still,......... AntiSpyware Is a must. Look all of thees utilities are out on the web. Good ones and trustable Mcafee and Norton. Dont ever, ever click ok on a pop up tha says, {"Your computer could be infected" click ere for a free scan..... NO. this is a no no, and anithing symilar. Rather control alt deleet, and close the add or pup up.
My recomndations, FREE AVG. Yes FREE. AVG is an exellent virus scanner Better than Nort./McAf. it is free got o "AVGFREE" searched and download. Run, Update and Run.
Spyware... Search "SPYBOT S&D." You will love this Sspyware Removal Tool. Verru easy to use #1 Safe#2 and you will probably be 100% on time with your WEB Q's after you run this app. Search it as above download as above install, Update, Update, Update..... and RUN. You will love the "inmunize feature" Yes I said Inmunize. This is a free App. But if you can Please donate. This is probably the best in the WEB. I'ts free and it is good so If you can, send them $$ a few $ will suffice.
Well Hope this helps. Get you a Router this is a great way to fire wall yourself with some bricks and mortar. Get it?.. Will.

This may be because you have many processes/apps running in the background.
Many apps will load a startup file so they run automatically when you start your PC. To check what is there go to START>RUN and type msconfig then check the startup tab. Any stuff there you don't need uncheck and restart PC (dont uncheck windows/system files.
If you have Norton installed this can also be a system hog - Maybe extra RAM would help
Also check to make sure your hard drive isnt full and delete rubbish like temp files etc (you can use windows disk cleanup under Programs>accessories>system tools
You May possibly have a virus. Scan drives with up to date antivirus software.
Hope some of this helps

Go to www.pcworld.com and type "Computer Tweak" in the search bar. A whole page of stuff will pop up to help you. As I am not in front of your computer and you weren't more specific it's too hard to identify your problem. Here are a few suggestions:
1. Older computer with not enough hard drive space
2. Not enough RAM
3. Too many programs are active (Go to RUN, type msconfig, click startup, turn off all unnecessary items)
4. Conflicting programs
5. Spyware (Get Ad-Aware SE for free and run it)
6. Virus
7. Wireless internet problems? Signal strength? Interference?
Try the PCWorld page for more help! Good luck.

Sound like you have an adware or it could be a virus, trojan etc. Buy a program to scan your computer and remove it before it messes your entire system.( re installing is such a pain).
The only other things it could be is that you are just about out of room (hard drive/ memory), have way too much crap (too many useless files, programs) or your computer is on it's last legs ( fan motors, hard drive etc.)
