wife was using rubbing alcohol near computer and spilled a whole bottle on desk and got a whole bunch on keyboard also. now it doesn't work. using on-screen keyboard to type. checked keyboard in control panel thing and windows say it is working properly but when i try to use it it doesn't work. is it done for or will it survive?

With any liquid its a conductor, so right now its not going to work, the chances of it surviving are slim, I bet 0 now that its powered up.. Most of the time, with alcohol, you can simply let it dry out, being that alcohol, disapates water and is a drying agent. But now that its powered up, I dought it will ever work again, You can unplug it and let it sit for awhile and dry, and see if it works, but your best bet like the guy before, buy a new one..

You can use alcohol on the keybord to clean it just dont use too much, and dont spill it.. well little late for that, but if it happens again, dont turn the power on! Unplug ASAP! and let it dry. Better survival rate.

Give it a chance to dry. If it doesn't work by tomorrow,it's probably done for.
