I have tried installing my new hard drive as a slave drive on another computer and then used te seagate DiscWizard to copy the files from the master drive to the slave drive and then made the slave drive the master drive on a different computer. The problem is that i get an error about the Operating System not being detectable. So is there a way i can get windows xp onto that slave drive and have it bea master drive/

.
Yes.
First install your second hard drive #2 into the pc with the Windows already installed on #1hard drive C:

They go on the same system ribbon. The #1 will "see"
#2 as slave automatically.

Then on #1 go to START > Programs > Systems Tools >
and click BackUp
Then follow the Wizard and
select BackUp and Settings >
All information Stored on this computer
then when prompted BROWSE
to either DESKTOP
or at least Hard Drive C:
and tell it to do the back up to Hard Drive D:

If you really know what you're doing you can be more specific in what you want to back up.
A more novice person should back up everything, and then later on the new hard drive delete the
things you don't want.

When you install the #2 Hard drive into the second pc
if it is the only hard drive, it will automatically be "seen" as the primary C: Drive.

i imagine you've a hidden partition on your hardchronic, which ability you even were given an entire backup, fix Disk to renistall Vista, you go with to set your Bios to enable fix or some thing Like that the even as booting you press F10 or 12 or Fn + F10 it varies from computer to computer (or pc), bypass to the Laptops information superhighway website to verify how 2, each and every kind is diverse. you should get a software like Acronis besides with it to locate your hardchronic and then Fdisk then format yet all that is previous what i am going to respond to right here . All i recognize is that the HDD is There yet domicile windows can't examine it because it has a PQ Partition on it, in case you eliminate the Disc and Take it to a save they might format it for you.

Yes. I receive e-mail from a site that answers all types of questions about computers and also sells for a very reasonable pirice software, etc. The other day, he had something that would let you transfer from one computer to the next without backing up. You just connected the two computers together. I can't remember the price but it seems like it was less than $20. His e-mail address is steve@worldstart.com
