My labtop is able to get on the internet...I did it at my aunts house, but at home with my moms computer it won't do it. She has the router and everything, and it will allow me to connect but it says I do not have access to the internet and I do not know how to change that. My moms internet works fine....Please help! soon!

When ever i boot the laptop this is what happens
first it comes up to a compaq screen and show that you can chage the boot order with and yo can press to enter setup and to boot from LAN-( this part is normal)
heres where the trouble starts it comes to a black screen and reads this :
Top line:Intel UNDI, PXE-2.0, (build 2.0)
Second line:Copyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel Corperation
Skips one line
Fourth line: For Realtek RTL8139(X)/8130/810X PCI Fast Ethernet Controller v2.13 (020326)
Fifth Line:PXE-E61: Media Test Failure, Check Failure
Sixth Line: PXE-M0F: Exiting PXE ROM.
This screen will flash every 30 or so seconds and will last about 10 secs this keeps repeating no matter how long i leave it on.

Actual Volume remains low even if I have it set to maximum everywhere. I can't understand why my other HP laptop can have the sound surrounding the whole home but for the Acer laptop, I have to sit very close to it to hear something understandable. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

My little cousin used my dell lap top the other day and put his head phones into the port they go in and jamed them in real hard.

I can still stick head phones in there and I can still hear a little bit of sound but I think its broke.

Is there a way to get this fixed? I have another section to plug in a Mic or something is there a way to maybe switch so I can plug my head phones into that port?

I am intending to buy my first laptop. It has to have bluetooth, GREAT sound quality, good graphics, dvd rw and at least 1 mb ram.
17 inch would be nice but average weight please.
A good substitute for my desktop.
I like Vaio but some told me Dell is the best.

If there is no cd in the cd burner, I have to press the button 3 times to open it. Each time I press the button, the tray tries to open, hesitates, then the light flashes as if reading the drive. If there is a cd in the drive, it will open first shot. I purchased the cd burner with my computer from Dell almost 3 years ago. My warranty has run out on it. My DVD-Rom opens fine every time. Does anyone have the same problem? Thanks for your help.

there was something under the key on my keyboard and i took it off thinking i would be able to snap back it back on. turns out i cant, there is a little piece of plastic that has to be attached to the key itself and the keyboard but i can't seem to figure out how to do it. any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

My dad wants to get a new laptop for his office and doesnt know where to start looking so I want to see if anyone can reccomend any to me.
These are the main things that he wants:
-Toshiba - preferably Satellite or Qosmio
- Windows XP
- Large screen (17" if possible)
- Not too heavy or chunky/thick - he used a Qosmio before and itwas not good for travelling.
- Max Price $2,000
- 100GB (minimum) Hard drive/memory

Think thats all the main things he said. It will be used for office work and would also need to be good for storing photos and for making slideshows and stuff. Also shouldnt be too heavy because he travels alot and he wants the widescreen because he got used to it on the other Qosmio he used and its better for showing photos and stuff. Also he doesnt like the Toshiba Tecras.
If you know of any like this please can you give me the Toshiba model and if possible a link to a website with reviews and more detailed description.

I bought a new notebook about a month ago and here are the specs:

AMD Turion X2 TL-50
1024 MB of RAM
ATI XPRESS 1100
120 GB HDD

Even though it has good config, when I start up programs, the two cores jump to 100% for about 1 second and it takes quite long to open the program. I thought dual core was supposed to be very fast... By the way, I have NO spyware and have only my antivirus(AVG) and my wireless network started.

Ive had this computer for a long time and its in horrible conditions. It very slow and the cd drive is not detected anymore. I wanted to erase everything on it and get it back to normal but how can i do that without being able to run the cdrom?

The USB is broken, and I was told that I can get an adaptor to slide in to where the wireless card is.. but is there another option where I can use both? IBM says that on my laptop, I'd need a whole new motherboard to fix the usb.

the key has come of the keyboard ans left on the keyboard is a rubber bit with metal bits around it. on the back of the key there is a black circular bit and a blue one with indents on them. i am wondering if there is anyway of fixing it.
