I’m not asking for pro’s verse cons, just the difference in performance.

Desktop performance is generally higher than laptops. This is not to say that a laptop with higher specifications will not outperform a desktop with lower-end components. (of course it will) But the most high end storage, processors, drives, ram, etc. still tends to be reserved for desktops.

I think laptops are limited just because of space issues. You can put big cooling systems into desktops, add multiple hard drives, sound cards, etc. Most laptops are probably full inside as is. When you check out the up to date systems, laptops vs desktops, which ones have the better looking performance numbers?

Desktops are said to be an endangered species in 10 years. Though , I know a lot of people who actually prefer them over a laptops.I haven't found out directly why ,but one theory is that the keyboard isn't attached ,which is kinda puzzling because can't you just plug one it? You can also Adjust your monitor as your see fit. Parts are cheaper to replace and aren't as difficult install. I can see desktops getting smaller and smaller until it's like plugging everything up into a router sized machine and wires will be able to out mass the machine. Laptops aren't as fun to crush as desktops and make you feel dumb with such a small machine doing things you can't and can do the task faster then you ever can.
