My dad wants to get a new laptop for his office and doesnt know where to start looking so I want to see if anyone can reccomend any to me.
These are the main things that he wants:
-Toshiba - preferably Satellite or Qosmio
- Windows XP
- Large screen (17" if possible)
- Not too heavy or chunky/thick - he used a Qosmio before and itwas not good for travelling.
- Max Price $2,000
- 100GB (minimum) Hard drive/memory

Think thats all the main things he said. It will be used for office work and would also need to be good for storing photos and for making slideshows and stuff. Also shouldnt be too heavy because he travels alot and he wants the widescreen because he got used to it on the other Qosmio he used and its better for showing photos and stuff. Also he doesnt like the Toshiba Tecras.
If you know of any like this please can you give me the Toshiba model and if possible a link to a website with reviews and more detailed description.
Hope you can help

amador a - I got a 120GB laptop for around 2000 Dollars. Also he doesnt want Vista because then he has to get loads of new software and stuff. Also almost any laptop that gets dropped would be damaged.

Also he is probably only looking for Toshiba - He has always used them and they are also one of the better makes.

And to the third answer - He doesnt want an apple/mac laptop coz they are too confusing to use - even though there is that one that can have windows and apple. But he's used to windows.

Toshiba are good, Sony Viao (I have one) are excellent. HP are decent and of course Dell. So the choices are endless and 100GB is not out of the question its standard in most laptops now. If not try buying a USB plug and play external drive for about $100. Then its nice and easy to carry the files around with you insted of rising thier destruction in an accident.

if u want 100GB then thats like $5000. so 100GB is totally outta the question.but i suggest a VIAO or a Dell. i say a dell inspiron 1501 or a VIAO that fits his needs. u will have to pay an extra $50 if you want the PowerPoint and i suggest "snapfire" for pictures. and if you want to go to the limit, then get windows VISTA. witch is like $500 extra lol. but anyways, no Toshiba because if you drop it once than its compleatly GONE.

Go to the Apple site, they have a good selection and having used both windows & apple, I know by experience what I like best.
