I have a hp desktop a1640n.I know about the powersupply witch is 300w.big dill to that ya,but I dont want to change if i dont have too.twohundread bucks is good,cause anything abouve that and i do have to change powersupply.

does anyone know how to make an internet work on a laptop when its an airport connection it should work it hasent been working in my home which would be wireless and at school which is also wireless and i know i have a full airport connection but something is wrong and i don't know what and it did work before. would anyone know what it could be? i dont think i played with any settings or anything, but if that maye be the problem it would be nice know. thanks.

Do you know any good websites where tech wiz's strive to prove there's a solution to every problem?
Mine is trivial, yet I couldn't find any references to it anywhere online. I posted it on 2 Microsoft support forums and got 0 responses. Here it is, basically:
My laptop's infrared (IrDA) port doesn't work at all, even though Device Manager reports that "Built-in Infrared Device" is enabled and "working properly".

My CD-ROM is having trouble reading my c.d.s. Each time I insert a disc, a window pops up and reads "please insert cd and try again". This happens each time I try to get my CD-ROM to detect files on my CDs. Any advice? I think it might be a hardware problem, such as a spring, but I'm not sure..anyone with advice?

After my laptop turns on for a while, it suddenly shuts off for no particular reason. There is no shutting down screen, the screen just goes black. Afterward, I can turn on the laptop again. Is there a way to fix the sudden shut off problem? Recently, I did take the keyboard out and put it back in. Not sure if that matters.

What is the difference in a NIC card, ethernet and the 10/100?? Is one better than the other? Is a fan and heatsink hard to replace on a laptop?? I am getting a 02FA 'CPU FAN ERROR' and the fan does not stop running. It wont boot to windows??

I have three current problems with my new notebook. (New as in received on Christmas new) My USB ports don't seem to work, my audio doesn't work either when I try to play music (even though the startup sound plays when I restart the computer), and for some reason when I try to restart or shut down my computer, it doesn't shut down all the way. I have to hold down the power button to turn the computer totally off. All of these have happened once before, a few weeks ago, but fixed themselves when I turned off my computer and took it off the battery cord. Tried that this time and no luck. PLEASE HELP.
