Laptop.
You can browse the Net freely with a laptop, not with an Xbox.
You can play games on your laptop, but will be able to play better games on an Xbox.
You cannot browse the Net with an Xbox with ease of use.
You can download a whole tons of songs with a laptop, not with an Xbox.
You can burn CDs and DVDs with a 600 dollar laptop, not with an Xbox.

XBOX 360 definitely because you can do many things with it beside games. A $600 laptop won't be good for anything except the Internet. It can barely run Window Vista Basic,slow video card, small hard drive, bad quality sound chip, can't barely burn anything and it has out of date processor (celeron). You should get an Xbox 360 now and save money to get a better laptop later on. It doesn't make sense to get a laptop that's already outdated.

I'm not sure if it works but a few of my friends have tried it and one of them got a free one within a month or so. I haven't had to pay for anything yet so I figure there's nothing to lose.
The referral plan sounds pretty good though, do one offer (I did blockbuster cause I love movies) and get 14 referrals, doesn't sound TOO bad, we'll see though.

I think you would get more out of a laptop personally. Xbox can only do so much..Would you rather just be playing games?

laptop, you can play games on a laptop while still doing work. on an xbox360 you can only play

Lap Top, can do more with 600. Even better, go to Walmart, get a desktop, under 500, and you can get Vista, everything, and then you can download games, talk to your friends, etc.
Computers have better games.
Try Morrowind, it never end.
