just bought new laptop to-day but on pressing shift key to get the at abbreviation for email it wont bring up uppercase characteri.e. at any quick solution to this please? just pressed shift for question mark and it works as you can see but not for keys above

go to your control panel, regional and language options, click on languages tab at the top, then look down to "text services and input language" and click details, here you will see the language option for keyboard hi-light it and click "add" at the side and add the xtra language for your country, then hit ok it will take you back to the keyboard languages again and this time selct the language you want to remove and his the "remove" button. You will get a warning saying the language is in use but that is ok the language will be removed on next startup and your keyboard will be working fine now.
