first it comes up to a compaq screen and show that you can chage the boot order with and yo can press to enter setup and to boot from LAN-( this part is normal)
heres where the trouble starts it comes to a black screen and reads this :
Top line:Intel UNDI, PXE-2.0, (build 2.0)
Second line:Copyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel Corperation
Skips one line
Fourth line: For Realtek RTL8139(X)/8130/810X PCI Fast Ethernet Controller v2.13 (020326)

This screen will flash every 30 or so seconds and will last about 10 secs this keeps repeating no matter how long i leave it on.

media is probably a hard drive error....try formatting and reloading software from boot up disc hopefully bad sectors will be marked and not used when you reinstall software.

it type of feels like the battery is long previous and is finally shorting out the equipment. try utilising the pc without the battery in any respect. If it particularly works, then get a sparkling battery on ebay for a million/2 fee of the producer.
