HP nx6325 has dual channel mem capability, mine registers 1024mb but only as single channel. I installed second stick of 512mb pc 5400 667mhz, same as came installed in machine.

I just got a new mac. I transfered all my files from PC to Mac. Both laptops have 60gb of memory. In my Compaq, I have over 30 gb of free storage, while in my mac I only have a bit less than 25gb. Why? If I have almost the same file. What can I do to improve my storage in my mac? By the way, it is a MacBook with Intel.

I'm thinking about buying a new laptop to use as my home computer. I'll use to run autocad, photoshop and other desig software. And to run most usual software...
Maybe it should have a big screen, about 17''...

When I open up my laptop screen it flickers. I was told that there is a wire inside the laptop that gets loose every once in a while and if I was to just open it and push these wires back together, my laptop screen will stop flickering. I do not know anything about the inside of a laptop, and I know more about desktops. Laptops a different world. My laptops a Gateway WMIB-114G. Is it a good idea top open it and try connecting the wires myself? Professionals charge too much to such a quick job. So thats not an option.

I have a Gateway laptop, about a year old with an intel centrino 1.5 ghz processor. I want to buy a gam that rquires a 1.7 ghz processor. just popped out a couple of keys by accident on my dell laptop. having a heck of a time getting them back in. looks like a hinge on one of the keys is broken. the other key looks fine, it's just not popping back in. do i need to replace the whole keyboard or can i just purchase a couple of new keys?
