I dont believe in buying premade Desktop pcs...i build my own...but Dell has awesome laptops. ..Cheap..Fast..

If you live near certain stores you can get a modern laptop for about $400.00. The stores are Fry's Electronics or Microcenter. Other suppliers often have brand-new laptops for 4 or 5 hundred dollars, such as Dell. You need to watch the advertisements.

check the stores near you. you can find cheap ,laptops with only 900 doll. buy a laptop that has an Intel dual core processor 512 MB of ram and a good graphics card

Acer is by far the best for laptops in my opinion as far as customizing for what you want, but a dell would be sufficient enough for what you need it for.
Dell sometimes has promotions going on visit the website at http://www.dell.com to view the special offers and such.

Best Buy, they offer the best prices. You might want to try Ebay as well....you'd be surprised at the good things you will find. Good luck!
