HP nx6325 has dual channel mem capability, mine registers 1024mb but only as single channel. I installed second stick of 512mb pc 5400 667mhz, same as came installed in machine.

You need the two to be exactly the same, not just speed but architecture and timings.

If both ARE identical, then first check the BIOS to see if there's a dual-channel setting there. Next, check Device Manager for the Properties of memory and see if there's the option there. It has to be one or the other, I'm sure. Good Luck :-)
