First, ask yourself "What do I want to do with my laptop?" Then, go to Intel & AMD and research their processors to see which one would suit your needs best. Then get as much RAM Memory in it as you can afford!!!!!!!!!!!! Then, decide if you want to burn cds, burn movies to dvd, watch dvds, etc... and make sure the laptop has options for those functions. Gonna do a lot of video gaming, then you'll want a good graphic card with at least 256megs built-in Ram. Good Luck! :-)

Toshiba has always made good products and looking at the specs on the machine, I'd say you can't go wrong. Looks like it is getting hard to find though.
