why when ever i put my Wireless adapter into my laptop. the laptop just freeze and doing nothing?

when i turn off the laptop, put the card in, turn on the laptop again, and the laptop even doesnt start the window.
My laptop is a Pentium 4

I think port or your addapter have problems, or maybe your laptop unable to accept your card. If you write deatils about your laptop and your card is better to guide you.

Maybe the driver for it is damaged, or the registry entries for it is damaged. Try re-installing the drivers.
Or maybe the adapter is bad?
If you can, try the adapter on another laptop to see if the problem is with the adapter. When you plug it into another laptop, Windows should detect the adapter and query for a driver.

because u overload the computer put the adapter in the computer before u turn it on
