I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 with an s-cable connection and would like to be able to hook it up to my cable service directly without a television. Any suggestions?

S-video jack on laptop is for output only.

Like IT pro said, the port on the back of the laptop is really for output only. That means it's designed for you to plug the laptop into a TV or VCR so you can see what's on your laptop on the TV.

There are products that let you see TV on your computer. I put a link to one below, but note that I never used it so I'm not sure how it works...

Hope that helps!
