Does anyone have a inspiron? Is it normal for it to get so hot that u can't bare to have it on your lap? I've heard about the recent recalls of batteries, i am a little worried. I just received my laptop today 9/19 so i doubt i have one of those faulty ones.

I have been trying to file a complaint for over an hour now. Why can't they just simply direct me to the right place to complain to instead of sending me here, here, here, here, and none of which answers my question. I got ripped off by somebody. This same guy, I found out, sold the same laptop on I bid free, ebay and yahoo. I bought and paid for it paid in April. And now nobody wants to know nothing. Ebay says he's no longer allowed to sell on their site.. ibid free says he's no longer allowed to sell, and yahoo just ignores me. What's up? Anybody tell me how i can contact Yahoo and complain to prevent him from selling the same laptop yet again? Yahoo just keeps ignoring me and sending me to stupid places which have nothing to do with my qestion or complaint. How do I finally get somebody from yahoo to listen before this guy sells the same laptop for the 4th time?, which I already bought and paid for back in April!!!

My laptop charger does not charge my battery anymore. It only works as an outlet source but does not charge the laptop battery. I'm not sure if the problem is the battery or the charger.

Please let me know if you think you know what the problem is.

I'm confused what laptop or notebook to buy. Here's what I like, the reason why I'm buying a laptop or notebook is because I am really a very fanatic of PLAYING ONLINE GAMES! I want to bring along my laptop or notebook in school so that after class I could play ONLINE Game in an instant. Anywhere I'll go, I'm planning to bring along my laptop or notebook with me so that I could PLAY ONLINE GAME to be specific RAGNAROK.. please do help, I really don't know what to buy..

It's worked fine since I got it in November, but for some reason recently the DVD burner won't burn onto DVD rw or CD rw. It'll start out just fine, but about 10% into the process, it'll say there was a read error. The only suggestion it gives is to try a different disc.

The laptop is a Toshiba.

*I am a college student and we have wireless internet on campus (so I need a wireless internet card)
*I need software that will keep out viruses, spyware, adware, etc. and I would like this software to be included with the laptop.
*I need office software, especially Word and Powerpoint (or something similar)
*I will be multitasking and I need something quick...

What are your suggestions?

I have format the hard drive and install it with Chinese Vi. of Window XP, everything work fine. But just everything time when i open up the computer it will have two Window ask me to choose from, but one of the is working other one is not. Why? I have two window to choose from. How can i get those thing solve? Then everytime, i don't have to choose one of the window in order to go into the window? Thank you very much for help?

I'm not into graphics or design, but then I'm not particularly into the latest games either so I'm not really being pulled either way. I mostly watch movies, emails,WP, P2P and torrent share and listen to music on iTunes. Am about to buy my first iPod if it makes any difference. the screen on my daughters laptop has broken and its going to be repaired. the shop have told us the chances are it will come back wiped only problem is all her coursework is on it. we can save it as the screen is completley blank so we cant see what to do. is there any way of connecting to another computer screen to save it all and how!!!!!!!

Over the past 2 weeks, there have been a few times when I shut down that I get a DOS-type window, stating something like" Stop 0x0000008E (Xc0000005 0x805B0405 0xF0486C7C 0X00000000) BIOS update needed. I do a hard reboot, then get a message saying that Windows recovered from a serious error. Error Signature: 10000008e BCP1: C0000005 BCP2: 805B0405 BCP3: F0486C7C BCP4: 00000000 OsVer: 5_1_2600 SP: 2_0 Product: 256_1. The comp works fine after showing this. I'm worried that my HD is going to crash. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated-Thanks

I often use the ten-key pad on a conventional keyboard. That does not exist on a typical laptop keyboard.
