You can plug it into the PS2 port if the laptop has that or into the USB port which they all have.

Some laptops have plug-in adaptors on the side for an external mouse and another for an external keyboard.
So, just look on both sides and the back of the laptop to see if the right kind of plug is available for a keyboard.
You can also try a USB-ready keyboard and plug it into a USB port.

I guess if its a really old keyboard,Then it will have a ps/2 connector(Round connector),If your laptop does not have a ps/2 port then you can buy a connector on ebay.
