go to control panel/system/advanced.start up and recovery settings and choose the operation system you want under default and set the time to display operating system to '0'

There is a file called boot.ini in the root directory of your C: drive.

Before you do anything open this file using Notepad and do a Save as. Make the new name boot-save.ini

Now, edit the boot.ini file with Notepad and remove all but one of the lines that begins with multi(0)

Make sure you leave the one that is working!

Have fun but be safe!

If you installed any OS before and you re-installed the OS again ... It will ask you to choose the Boot Os .... you can find it in your Boot.ini file in partition C: it might be invisible to you... so goto View-Folder options and Select "Show all hidden and system files" to display that file.. edit it... remove the second one... in that line. if you did anything wrong there... your system never be booted again.... so be care full to find the lines... okay?

I'm geussing that you had two versions of windows installed.

Only one has the files still.

You can erase the other entry but it takes some steps.

basically you have two entries in the boot sector.. but only one links to an OS actually on the drive.

There are ways to change it.. to only list the one.
for instance...

Go to Start then Run and type msconfig and press enter. Go to the boot.ini tab and change the Timeout to 0
