I'm going to university and want to buy a laptop or a notebook but i dont know the diference could you plz tell me o wise people of yahoo answers! I bow to you all.

Laptop is same as PC, because it contains all of that in the PC,its just that Laptop is wireless and portable in the sense that you can bring it any where unlike with the PC. Notebook is also the same as a Laptop because it is also portable and wireless the main difference of this two is that Notebook is a personalized Laptop that has been customized to certain needs of the user..

Same thing, different name. There are also "desktop replacements". A desktop replacement would be like my laptop (or notebook) that is too big to really be lugged all over the place, but is still portable. And then there are also tablets, those are the ones that have the screen you can use the stylus to write on (may be useful for taking notes).

Notebooks were supposedly smaller.
Well, these days, notebooks and laptops are the same thing. I think a more useful question for you woud be something like, "What's the best laptop I can buy for $xxxx?"

notebooks are smaller and a lot easier to transport. I believe it cost more to get one than a laptop. If you can afford it then get a notebook.
