my mail keeps saying i have 20 new messeges but there are none in my box how do i get rid rid of it

I used my hard disk (20G) to recover files on a different PC and after reinstalling it and booting I get this message: NTLDR missing ; Hit any key to reboot. When I hit a key, I get back to the same message. How do I solve this because even trying to reinstall Windows XP the operating system, I get the same message along in case where the PC has to be rebooted.

once a week my computer restarts by itself. it's always late at night when it does it? I do not have any scheduled tasks that would make it do this. I do have windows update but it never updates it tells me when i have updates and i just let them sit there I never update it. so whats up with it? I already thought about heat if its heat why does it only do it once a week late at night? I'm lost on this one. Anyone know?

Last night, after I had left the room for a brief second after playing a game, my computer started freezing up. I also had a USB mass storage device in as well. So, I turned off the computer and turned it back on again to see if it would start up again. Turns out that the monitor, the mouse, and the keyboard are no longer working. My computer is a Compaq Presario that is about 6 years old. I need all the answers I can get with this one.

I also don't know what the new PCI Express 16 is, as opposed to AGP 8X. I had a computer business that closed 3 years ago, and now I am officially out of touch. I am about to upgrade the computer, and I am surprised to see boards with this "SATA" feature available.

I have a Sony DV camcorder and I just purchased a firewire card for my computer which installed fine. When I connect the camcorder it is recognized by Windows XP fine and when I go into my Roxio DVD builder it recognizes it also and I am able to control the camcorder as far as rewind, fast fwd, etc. but when I start to capture the video it does not appear on the screen. Any help would be great.

In regards to actually sitting down and using a computer, what differences are noticeable when using a dual core processor as opposed to a single core? Some examples would be teriffic. Thanks

it is a compaq presario 6400nx i put two 512mb ddr pc2100 sticks into it, the computer, bios and in windows, only sees 512 mb, not the 1 gb i put in, i have tried moving the sticks around and updating the bios, is there anything else i can do?

My Desktop Picture won't appear on my computer, I have changed the picture to see if that was the problem and I have been disapointed that it was not. I went into the desktop modifer in the control panel, the panel does nothing only changes the color of the blank screen over the picture. The Computer is a Windows XP.

I have a Dell desktop that is about 4-5 years old, it have been getting a message that says I have low disk space. I keep trying to defragement and use Spy bot, but I can't get it cleared up. I only have a few word documents and it still says that the disk space is low. Is there anyway I can wipe the memory and start over, or anything else I can do to make it run smooth again?

ok, when i turn on the pc the light comes on, but the monitor, the keyboeard and other devices doesnt seem to detect pc activity. I tried disconectnig all devices but its the same. Then the pc doesnt seem to be working, it makes less sound, maybe its the hard drive, or lack of power distribution, if i can repair it manually pls give some tips bout what should i wear and what to do and to not do.
