You should go and get the update, that could be the problem. If automantic update is not working go to the windows update web site and get the update. But before downloading the updates, make sure your computer is clean of spy-ware and virus's.

There are sorts of problems why does a PC restarts itself automatically,sometimes video card does, because the GPU is over heating due to GPU fan is not working properly. the other problem is the CPU and it is the same as the video card problem. better check it, if it is overheating.

I can't say for sure.
When Windows XP does updates by itselft, it sometimes restarts without you telling it to. It is an anoying feature of Windows XP, but its the facts.

My computer did that (restart itself) Take it to the Geek squad (Best Buys) They will give a you a price quote for your computer. It's worth the money. Before your computer gets worse.

u just change the antivirus and try with the new one ... he old one could also affected by the virus, so that i could not betray that one when u scanned for virus.
even i had the same problem, i just format the system and nowadays i dont face such problems ...

Try reconfiguring your auto-updates. You may have it set to download and install without asking.
You didn't indicate if there were any error codes involved. I f there were, it gives you the option of"error reporting".

may be a virus, it may even be some old undeleted programs just check what are the programs it is running with alt+ctrl+del.
