The problem is not incompatibility, but rather the maximum supported ram. You need to find out how much your old motherboard can support. For example it may support 512mb but only in 4 sticks of 128 rather than 2 sticks of 256 or even 1 stick of 512. Ram sticks with single or even double sided chips sometimes also plays a part. The answer lies in your motherboard manual!

The video is probably fine. The memory you added is not compatible with the PC so it is not booting. Never getting to the point where it sends out a picture. Remove the memory and it will probably start working again.

If the PC only have 64m of memory, it is probably ancient and can not handle 512 of memory. Sounds like it is time to start saving your pennies of a new one.

I would advise you to get a new computer but only if you can afford dear friend. Do not buy it in haste buy it when you can. Good Luck Britt
