The mind boggles. It is probably a virus.

You need to boot your computer in safe mode. Start the computer and when the BIOS first comes up start pressing the F8 key, don't hold it down, just keep pressing it. A black screen comes up asking which mode you want to use; select Safe Mode. When the computer comes up, it will have a 32-bit screen and look weird, the computer is running in its most simple form. Find and run your ant virus software, then run your antispyware.

If that doesn't work then you will need the help of a pro; try Best Buy, Microcenter, Frys, Comp USA, or a dealer you trust.

Possibilities are
1.) a startup program is corrupt which causes system crash, (windows users) user try resolving that by running you windows OS in safe mode and run ms configuration, go to startup programs and try to uncheck all third party softwares... afterwards try diagnosting every startup programs u have (sounds difficult but it's the best way)

2.) your system performance can't handle all the programs you have in your computer, try system defragmentation to arrange your programs, or the best way is, try uninstalling unecessary programs.

3.) Your PC is old and because of hi end programs of today's technology, youur PC can't handle it anymore... upgrade it or worst scenario buy a new one.

You may have a loose connection on your ribbon cable. Open computer and pull loose cable from hard drive and motherboard and replug. I assume you mean it does not access windows.
