I am trying to fix this Dell, the guy ripped the VGA cord out the back destroying the onboard port. there is no AGP, only PCI available so I put a few different PCI video cards in. no good, I have to disable the onboard video through the bios (which i can not see beceause there is no video) and there are no video related jumper settings on this mobo. is there such a thing as a VGA video cable, even one that provides terrible quality and black and white, that i can plug inro the USB? It must work WITHOUT installing any drivers. thanks for your imput.

PS. I already tried removing the battery, resetting the CMOS jumper and kicking it.

system is a Dell 2350

we want to buy a puter for mother in law and she doesn't need much so is cheaper to buy w/out XP or any other os but don't know if microsoft will allow me to use my product code on her computer? I am thinking of buying a 400gb internal hard drive and fitting it to my desktop, are there any cables i need or anything i need to install? A computer technician i know came round recently he told me my computer should easily have enough power to run 2-3 hard drives, at the moment there is just a 300gb hard drive. Do my two hard drives have to be the same type? My current 300gb is sata. I haven't acutally looked properly how its plugged in, but it looks simple.

Hi,i'm planning to buy a Dell inspiron 6400 with 2.0ghz core 2 duo(4mb cache) and 2 ghz ram(dual channel-ddr2) and an ATI mobility X1400 256mb with hypermemory, and a 15,4'' widescreen display.(laptop)
but the question is that i want to be able to chat,play,surf,listen to music and watch videos with it, and i was wondering that can i play games like sims2-GTA-Star wars-Empire earth and similar games with 'normal' graphics? and can i burn DVD's and at the same time play(for example) or listen to music??
and if the fans inside the laptop(for example for the cpu) gets dirty how can i clean it? can i do it myself?
i hope you people could give me a good answer so i won't waste my money on something not good,,, thanx alot ;) peace

I want to buy some ram from ebay for my boyfriend's dell computer, as it's running incredibly slow. This is his spec at the minute is:

Memory Slots
DRAM Slot #1256 MB (PC2700 DDR SDRAM)

I've got my eye on an ebay listing, selling some ram. This is what it states:

I have tried portable media device, has no disable, delete or whatever. Under my computer in control panel there is no option for disabling or deleting Write Protection. I've tried all of the suggestions under the above 4 answers of "how to remove write protection on my flash drive. My flash drive (s) are not faulty. Can someone please help? Thanks

Ok, i have a nvidia 8100 series graphics card..the best graphics card i could buy, and i reformattedmy computer recently, well now, it says that i have a generic graphocs card installed and it wont letme play my games that require a nice graphics card...iim almost to the point of taking my computer back to best buy and have them see what the hecks wrong with it, and suggestions on how to fix this? ive tryed ininstalling and reinstalling the graphics card, but nothing happens...i have no idea how to fix it...thanks, if u need more info about my computer, email me, or im me, and i will be glad to share

Okay, my computer is brand new, I have an asus motherboard, and the sound audio works perfectly for every application. But there is absolutly no sound in my dvd rom drive and dvdrw drive. I connected them both to the onboard audio connector and everything. I am at a total loss. The drivers are upedated and the audio apparently is working. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

I need a decent graphics card thats around or under $120. I want a AGP because i have a PCI card (radeon 9250) right now and i absolutely hate it... I need a graphics card that can handle big games f.e battle field, call of duty, photoshop etc. Id also like a high resolution g.c if possible. If any one could also explain the difference between AGP, PCI, and PCI-express that would be great...thanks!

i have burned a CD, useing windows and seperate software programs. But 1 problem: i cant run them on my other computer without a CD burner.

The AD_Link cable that comes with the Sound Blaster Audigy 4 is one part firewire and one part something else. I need to find out what that other cable is. The cable that came with it is not long enough and Create Labs "can't" make a longer one for me or provide me with some sort of coupler to connect two together. Does anyone know what kind of cable this is and/or where I can find a longer one or a coupler. Thanks.
