We still get sound from I-tunes, CD's, and DVD's though!?!
(Please let there be a "Dr. Mac" out there, before my boyfriend kills me!)

Sometimes, when using certain things, they can change your Audio output to a level that your current system's audio can't handle. That's a realy crappy way of saying it, but it's been a while since i ran across this article.

Solution:
Using the Finder, go to Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup
Choose  Built-in Output from the Properties For: pull-down
in the box on the right side of the window, select 44100 Hz and 2 channel, 16 bit for the format.

Hope this solves your problem!

make sure you're not on MUTE, and do a virus scan.
Limewire and other file stealing sites are notorious for viruses and spy-ware.
