a boss who brings in his baby son/daughter all the bloody time to basically disrupt the office and lose out on an hours work?

I understand your frustration, however, unless he is repremanding you for work time lost ...why worry about it ? Be nice to his kid ... smile & laugh when he's around ... play the game & you'll soon see that this can in some cases get you even further in the boss' eyes than by being an efficient worker.
I know ... it ain't right ... but you & I ain't the boss neither.
