The flash drives (Sandisk Cruzer, Kingston) do not have a switch on the side. I know how to remove hardware safely. That does not release the "write protection" that stops me from accessing the info, deleting or adding from or to the flash drives. I want to know how to "Release the Write Protect" notice that appears whenever I try to access my flash drives. Thanks

You don't set the write protection from within Windows, but rather there should be a switch somewhere on your flash drive that sets it.

For example, on mine you simply flip a switch to the right and it's set for write protection. Flip it to the left and you're able to read, write, and delete.

Just look around the drive itself and locate that switch on yours.

FYI, when you plug it into your USB port, there'll be an icon that allows you to disconnect it so you can remove it safely. In other words, you don't just pull it out because that can cause data to be lost or become corrupted. You'll need to "stop it" so you can safely remove it. This part is done on the windows taskbar with one of those little icons.
