Yes you can, you just lose some speed and compatibility with some devices.

Yes, but it will transfer at a 1.1 speed. If you want/need 2.0, you will need to buy a PCI card that has USB 2.0 ports. (really cheap at www.newegg.com) Upgrading to 2.0 from 1.1 is a HUGE speed boost, so if you have a harddrive attached via 1.1 usb, it will be slow.

NOTE: If you have a harddrive plugged in through a hub, it may not work. Everything else should, though.

The answer is yes you can, but it will only run at the speed of the 1.1 port. Other than that, it should work just fine.

Yes, also you will lose the power to any self powered units like external hard drives, and you MAY POSSIBLY LOSE POWER TO THE HUB ITSELF.
