put it into mine so that I can partition it? A friend installed a brand new out of the box hard drive, but his cd-rom drive doesn't seem to be reading his drivers disk. I slid the disk into MY computer's cd-rom drive and it worked. So, is it possible to take out his hard drive and install it into my computer just so it could read the disk and also install an OS on it?

I just purchased Fujitsu lifebook N6460, but instead of windows vista, i decided to get windows XP on it instead, and with windows XP, i can not install the TV tuner i recieved, which wasn't a big deal for me since I just want to play some games connected to my TV!

On the TV tuner, there is a little slot where i can insert a line which i also recieved with my labtop (which splits into the yellow, white, and red lines) so I went and purchased sound/video connector which i can plug into the tv tuner, and into my TV, but it does not show anything~!

did i purchase a wrong cable line? please help me with this problem, I am very eager to get this working on my TV >.<

I have an e-machine model T3112, it came with a 80GB ATA hard drive, I'm trying to install a sata 300 on my computer cause I wanna update my hard drive but still have the ATA drive. I have everything hook up right and my sata drive is not been detected. I try using disk management and the sata drive still not there. My computer spec. are 1.80GHz with 1.25GB ram. I am currently thinking about buying a low end tablet for school but I was wondering if I bought my textbooks and scanned them onto my tablet so I wouldn’t need to be carrying around 10 hard cover books would I be breaking the law?

Mine just died. It was a 300gb one. I was thinking about replacing it because I needed more space anyway. Because this happened, I'm now thinking instead of getting one of those 1tb ones, I should buy two 500gb ones.

What do you think? And also: Where should I be looking to find a good deal on these?(used or otherwise)

we just recently hooked up wireless on my cable internet. my computer desktop was quick. 6 mb. but now that my sister laptop is hooked ujp on wireless with the adapter my computer takes an hour to load up one page. but hers is flying. pls tell me how to fix my desktop.

I have a problem with windows XP, whenever my laptop goes to stand by, if i try to come back from it I can't.

The laptop just stays there frozen and the screen doesn't turn on.

I use windows XP SP2
Laptop Acer travelmate 2303Lci.

It was fine a week ago.

I was recently given a used IMB thinkpad laptop computer I am computer illiterate and dont know if it is already internet ready (I haven't tried yet) Do I need to go buy something for it? same as above. For instance, say something goes bad in the laptop that a normal person cannot access through the little doors or whatever that for instance ram usually can. Will they actually go in, take apart the laptop, and replace parts like a video card, or even something like the keypad? Thanks!

P.S If they don't do this, is there anybody other than the laptop manufacturer that will do this?

Okay, here's the deal. I have a Toshiba laptop running Windows Vista Home Basic. I'm trying to put some CDs into my iTunes library, but whenever I put a disc in nothing happens. I can't burn CDs either, because iTunes doesn't seem to realize that I put a blank disc in. In my device manager, under the DVD/CD-ROM Drives list there are two icons, one that says "HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GMA-4082N ATA Device" and another that says "NoteBurn Virtual_CD-RW SCSI CdRom Device". Both have little yellow exclamation marks. I tried updating the driver on the first one, but when I clicked "Automatically Search" it told me the driver was up to date, so no progress made. I'm not much of a techie, but I have a bit of common sense, so simple instructions to fix this problem would be really appreciated.

i add my time zone and such, but when it gets to name my pc, it sort of freezes ( no matter if i hit "forward" or "skip") it will act like its processing, then bring back my cursor, while not allowing me to hit forward, back, or skip. It will be used to complete work, will require Wi-fi, 3+ USB ports, a long-lasting battery, should be lightweight and portable (easy to carry).
