I have never once in my life seen or heard anyone say "labtops" until this question was asked.

Probably they made a mistake written LABTOP instead of laptop.
Nevertheless today we use different terms to almost every thing related to computers. reboot. instead of turn out,etc.
I think they should be called the way they should. PORTABLES

i've never heard anyone say that. but it doesn't surprise me. i've heard people make lots of other similar stupid mispronunciations
