if your child is going to advance to college i would suggest a hp slimeline dual core with AMD processor and Vista's Home Premium; eg. hp s3020n

I find this a hard question to answer. There are many 13 year old people, who build their own computers! (and I'm talking state of the art technology based on what's available today!)Children are using them in Kindergarten! I hope some 13 year old people come on here, and answer this, based on what they would like to have in a computer system.

Go make money by walking peoples dogs. Babysit your relatives kids. Clean your room and have a garage sale with all your "junk". It's bound to make you some money. And it can be fun! Make your mom a nice dinner because I'm sure she could use a break. And let's be honest here..our butts aren't getting any smaller just sitting here like we're molded into the chair. lol

go to dell.com pretty cheap computers. What is he going to use it for gaming, homework what..... or get a PC computers from Sam's are good for 13 year olds maybe a 350 dollar one i suggest compaq presario but if hes going to be using one for word and excel power point get something form dell for sure. I know about computers but i don't fell like listing them just go to dell because it has to match you budget and taste best answer plx :]

Its good because there is a wide range of choses and they are cheap. oh and you can chose not to buy it with a monitor which a lot of other company's don't do.
