does adding 1-2 gb on a flash drive to your usb port on computer and running Speedboost a windows program really make Microsoft Vista run faster cause vista takes up so much memory on your hard drive.

How do they all relate? And how do I get the most out of my machine? Also if I mix DDR 266 and DDR 333 ram on this machine wil I loose performance.

I have 256mb of RAM and I use photoshop. I design large posters which makes it slow.

My Dell Inspiron B120 has been struggling lately in a lot of ways. However, starting up has been especially bad. Lately, the compute takes 10-15 minutes with the black screen and Windows logo (sorry for my non-use of computer jargon) while trying to load.

Any idea why or how I can fix it?

I want to add some RAM, and want to know how much I've got and how many unused slots I have available. Going to control panel and device manager doesn't help. Maybe I'm looking right at it in device manager, but it doesn't explicitly name the chips that provide RAM.

I have an older Gateway w/ 1.8 GHz Pentium 4.

This is my freaking third time typing again, so, I'll just tell everything in point form.

- 3 keys not functioning properly --> 's', 'w' and 'x' when typed, they give me junk, even open programs and search

- rebooted, didn't work, waited and tried again, failed

- ran avast! antivirus [still running]

- thought a virus infection is a possibility since I remember seeing a dialogue box about taskmanager.exe not found or whatever

- hoping so badly that it's a keyboard problem and not an infection

What do you guys think? What should I do?

my epson stylus cx3200 has told me to contact an engineer i am sure this is just amanufactures way of obsolescence as is is used quite a lot i think not sure after so many prints it automatically locks the printer up so you would need an engineer is there a fix or a hidden switch to reactivate the printer

I want to copy DVDs on my laptop, but its only got a 4gb hard drive! and doesnt have a DVD RW. Do I need to buy an external hard disk and a dvd rw and is it possible to get external ones of these aswell? I've had a recent problem with my mouse being able to break the extreme borders of the desktop (occasionally left, sometimes right); I've adjusted my monitor, an E176FP flatscreen from Dell, to appropriate settings (res 1280x1024x32, refresh rate at 60), but my mouse is still able to head off the screen (taking its time getting back).
The problem is irritating, and support hasn't been able to troubleshoot my problem.

The first chip is an amd opteron dual core 2.0ghz processor 1000mhz fsb and the second chip is an Intel xeon 3.6ghz 800fsb if that helps. Does it depend on what my application is for or one or the other is just simply faster and better. Thanks.

After the computer is shut down the light inside the mouse stays on. Is there a way to disable the power in the mouse.Its an usb mouse with wheel in the middle-no ball.
