What brand/model are you using and how long can a fully charged battery last using your notebook/laptop continously using it?

It's top of my buying consideration because I intend to use outdoor.

There are alot of variables that come into play with the amount of hours a laptop can last on battery power.

1. Brand
2. Size of battery 6-cell 8-cell 12-cell etc..
3. Screen Brightness and other minor settings.
4 What your doing with the laptop. This is one of the main factors as well. if your just hopping on wifi every now and then to check emails then it will last a long time . If you are say editing a photo in Adobe Photoshop then your battery life will be signifigantly shorter.

In conclusion when shopping for one remember this.
The higher the number in the cell battery the longer it should last. Before you buy discuss with the sales person if they can show you how to use the software included on the laptop to change/edit settings that will help conserve battery power. Such as screen brightness and when the HDD turns off after inactivity.
Hope this helps.

I like playing around with different ideas.
I have 4 Laptops. The average "was" around 5-8 hours on mine (as they age they not last as long in time). Really a lot of what-ifs and if it constant use. Sometimes I may walk away and it Hibernate so, it still on, but these little rest periods make the battery last longer.
Now, it about 2-3 days of 24/7 on. What I did. Laptop batteries are expensive. So, I bought a small lawnmower battery $20 (3 years old now) and DC to AC converter for about $15. So, for $35 I have a long lasting setup. I want to try a Gel-Cell battery, I think they can work upside down, on their side etc., so, I was thinking I may make a case for everything and it all be easy to carry around.
Now my little setup weighs around 12 pounds, I never thought to weight it.
