Anyone have any clue why? It does this no matter what movie I try to play.

It pops and sounds like there's an echo.

I run on a laptop.

This could be an audio driver problem, audio card problem or a problem with the speakers.

If your laptop is still under warranty, have it checked through the warranty.

If you are using the built-in speakers, try connecting external speakers to the laptop.

If this corrects the problem, then your laptop speakers are defective or do not have the capability to handle a full range of sound.

Next: If you are running XP or Vista, create a restore point.

Try up-dating your audio drivers; there is not much you can do about the audio card in most laptops.

Good Luck.
