I looked up online, and thought that it may be LCD failure, but have just plugged my PC monitor in, and the blue lines have followed over too! any suggestions???

Sounds like video syubsystem failure.

MOST laptops this is built into main board, so if under warranty, contact manufacturer for repair, otherwise, buy a ne lapto, as cheap as getting em repaired usually, and you can get an ugrade at same time

Could be a driver issue or a failure of the video card. Check the make and model of the video card, and (re-)install the latest drivers from the manufacturer. If that doesn't help, it's probably the videocard itself.

It sounds like the video adapter on the motherboard is failing. There isn't really anything you can do. It is going to completely fail soon. You should get your data backed up pretty soon.

Check the video card on the laptop, it might be shot and getting a new one should fix the problem.

I don't have a laptop. I have heard that you are not supposed to touch the screen.
