Turion MK 38 is just a SINGLE core mobile processor w/ 512kb L2 cache from AMD. It is an older processor and would be quite comparable to Intel's Pentium M.
MK 38 would pale in comparison to Intel's Core2 Duo.

Absolutely do not go with AMD in the mobile market. Intel has dominated and rightly so since introducing the Core 2 chip architecture. They're more powerful, use less power to save your battery and are just overall more advanced chips. In the desktop and workstation arena the lines aren't as clearly drawn, but if you're talking about a notebook, go Intel Core 2 all the way.

And I don't know why the one person said AMD is better for gaming - that's categorically not true. Both Intel and AMD have been leapfrogging each other in performance for years, you'll do fine with either (unless you're getting a laptop, then it's Intel)

Cheers.

Well ones dualcore and ones not. The best thing to do is search the processor specs and read user reviews. But core 2 duo processors are pretty good. But I am an AMD fan. It usually goes like this. Gaming AMD and everyday use and web browsing, workstation INTEL

AMD makes good processors, but the Intel Core 2 Duo is incredible. I'd go with Intel on this matchup.

well, AMD processors are good for gaming, while Intel are more on processing documents. . . but also, try to find the difference for those two processors. . . it depends on which activity you will do
