printer locked out by epsom?

my epson stylus cx3200 has told me to contact an engineer i am sure this is just amanufactures way of obsolescence as is is used quite a lot i think not sure after so many prints it automatically locks the printer up so you would need an engineer is there a fix or a hidden switch to reactivate the printer

Probably the waste ink system is detected as full based on usage counts.
