First off I'll give you the computer specs

Hope that's enough... All right I have two questions. First I would like to know how much of a performance gain can I get by going to 1G? 2G? I know the computer isn't the best, but buying another isn't really "doable".

Second - I recently saw a dual monitor setup for a computer and would like to do the same for mine. I have done some reading and the only problem I seem to have currently (I think) is that I don't have a secondary port for the extra monitor. If I get a new graphics card for the computer will I be able to run the second monitor? Can the computer handle it? (Sorry I lied...more than two questions) If it will work where can I find one that will work for my computer? I would prefer to buy from a local store so how do I know which one will work? THANKS!

I am aware of the different methods one can take to repair a stuck pixel in their LCD screen. I appear to have a green and a red one on my screen, and i was wondering if i run the crazy seizure color program thing, how long can i run it for....and will it damage and other pixels or something with the screen over time. In addition, if the other procedures work, ie rubbing the pixel....and tips or something because it doesn't seem to work for me. Also, i believe the pixel CAME with the laptop....i did not aquire it over time, i was wondering if that made any difference? LAST question :)....if i have a stuck pixel and i can't fix it within X amount of time...is there a threat that it will turn dead???

please help guys, just purchased this laptop today and i don't want to configure everything again T.T

I just bought an Nvidia 8500GT for my rig. I have the latest drivers and all my normal work load handles fine. But if I start any source engine game the screen locks. I can move the mouse ok but I cannot access anything. I've already reformatted and still the same issue.

I am upgrading a friends RAM and I just wanted to check to see if this RAM would work. The computer takes SyncDram (or SDram) and my main consern is the pc66, pc100, or pc133.
"My" personal computer takes pc2700, and I order pc3300 ram for it and i found out the hard way that its matters what the type is......So basicly I dont want to make that same mistake......here are to links: one with the specs to the computer.........and the other link is of some RAM that i'm thinking about ordering.....Check it out and tell me if its compatable.....thanks

I was on my laptop just sitting here listening to music and then i got this message.

C:\users\Landon\desktop is not accessible

The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.

the only option i had was to press OK. so when i did it deleted all the icons on my desktop and everything i had saved to my desktop. I use Windows Vista and i have a Dell XPS M1710. The laptop works fine like i can do anything that i used to do. but i cannot save anything to the desktop or put any icons on my desktop. Help if you can...I was just goin to reformat...but that is a bit drastic if there is another solution.

I had my dvd drive replaced and now it and my cd rom drive won't work. When I shut down the computer they both show up on the device manager, but if I try to use either one they disappear from the list and won't work. I'm running Windows XP on a HP computer.

Mobos faulty and I suspect its the capacitors by the CPU because I hear a high hissing noise. How do I check the capacitors if theyre faulty or not? Also are the capacitors replaceable? Im fairly decent with soldering.

i have a dell inspiron 530 with vista and a samsung 20 inch monitor. all of my pictures are stretched out because the monitor is widescreen. is there any settings i can try to fix this? i cant find anything that i need-i was thinking maybe change a setting so its not widescreen anymore but has two black panels on the sides and is more square so the pictures arent stretched anymore.
