The jury is still out. Sometimes I think the battery makers slip one over on us. If you leave it plugged in all the time and would only use the battery once or twice a year, take it out. Even when fully charged, there is a very slight trickle going to the cells, Eventually this will cause failure when combined with the normal heat of the system. May take as much as 1 year may take 5. Hard to say since there are so many factors. Nice to know when working, if there is a power outage, you won't lose anything.

I'm currently run my computer in ac adapter..It is good to use it in this way especially if you are going to use your laptop in a long period of time but do not let your battery unused for a couple of days

Its a good idea to run it on battery sometimes to the point where it dies. I never bother taking the battery out of mine though (hubby an electronics engineer and says its not necessary!)
