you would have to wipe out the entire OS i.e. vista including the data. Bakc up u r data and put in the xp disc and run the installer

yes u can u just have 2 b ready 2 look 4 some drivers after ur done with ur fresh xp installation well u put ur cd 4 xp restart ur computer n ur ready 2 start ur format just follow the instructions erase ur previous version of vista n start fresh with xp u know that i like xp better than vista i just don't want 2 by give permission 4 everything u know good luck n do it right

yes, you can.. But, you'd have to do a complete format and everything. However, you might not be able to do other things. Like surf the internet. Due to the fact that the proper drivers for the hardware wont be included in some cases when you install the XP Operating system.

If you've experienced bad things about Vista, that's a good reason to change. But why go through the effort and expense just because you *heard* bad things? Is this a peer pressure thing?

yes you can, but it is preferred not to because it could mess up your hardware (i heared). but to do it, you just insert the XP cd in the CD ROM, and then reboot your computer, making your computer boot off the CD, then you just normally format it.
