dvd drive won't work?

Question

I had my dvd drive replaced and now it and my cd rom drive won't work. When I shut down the computer they both show up on the device manager, but if I try to use either one they disappear from the list and won't work. I'm running Windows XP on a HP computer.

Who replaced it? The dealer, repair store, or a friend? If the dealer or store, take it back.
